1939. Chillán (Chile). Devastating earthquake.
That day in 1939, there was a catastrophic earthquake Chillán, which almost completely destroyed the provinces of south-central Chile. The tragedy, however, was the catalyst to implement the latest ideas in modern architecture, with very marked influence of the Bauhaus and Le Corbusier, providing a valuable modern architectural heritage, of high quality, to Chillán, unique in the country, and very relevant in the Latin American context.
