1917. Peschiera del Garda (Italy). Peschiera Conference.
On 8 November 1917, after the defeat of Caporetto, the Conference of Peschiera met at the headquarters of the military command, the military representatives of Italian allies in the war against Austria (France and England) and the Italian military order. Vittorio Emanuele argued the need to place the army on the line of the Piave and rejected the allied proposal to withdraw to the Adige, the Po and Mincio.
