This street is famous because during the occupation of Sarajevo, the municipality of Ilidža ( * the location of the street 12.March) was under occupation by Serbian forces until the end of the war ( Novembar 1995.) .After the end of the war Serbian forces were removed from this territory with the signing of the Dayton peace agreement. The significance of this date (12.03.1996.) / name of street was the day when the municipality of Ilidža was again reintegrated, meaning that this territory / municipality on that day was again re-established.Information provided by Tourist Info Center of Sarajevo.
