1903. Maribor. Lower Styria (Slovenia). First meeting of the founded Historical Society for Slovene Styria in Maribor.

In 1903 the newly founded Historical Society for Slovene Styria in Maribor included in its programme also the task to "scientifically irreproachably study the history of the Styrian Slovenes" with special emphasis on linguistics. This type of work required the presence of a library, which was eventually founded at the first meeting of the society's board on 28 May 1903.
